Ep 0 - For You
Hi, JereMaya. If you're listening to this, it means you've finally discovered my new project. Consider this podcast a time capsule of thoughts, stories, and advice from your daddy.
When I started brainstorming, what I could share, I realized that my lessons learned and hopes for you could also be helpful to friends, family, and folks who may not even know you or me. I'm making this podcast because there's so much, I want to talk to you about. And rather than wait for you twins to be more experienced. Why not just share something meaningful now while it's still fresh in my mind.
Most likely others will benefit from this podcast before you. And that's more than okay. In fact, I'm hoping they will provide feedback and suggestions. So future episodes can be even more meaningful and helpful for you.
I think anyone who is open to learning about life lessons, career advice, relationships, how to be productive, how to be optimistic and other ways to grow, they would appreciate this podcast.
I firmly believe there'll be a day a week. A month, perhaps an entire season where we find ourselves hurting, feeling lost, bored, or worse apathetic about life and people. So my hope with this podcast is not only to help you during these darker days.
But also encourage, inspire and equip you to make each day count. Right now you twins are nine years old. And at this age, you see your daddy as someone with amazing superpowers.. It boggles your mind that I could run several miles a day. As I trained for my second marathon, while you can't run one mile without taking a break.
And your eyes light up. When I share stories based on films, I hope to watch with you someday, whether it's Terminator, Lord the Rings and other films your mommy thinks are too scary and mature for you at this time.
And there's a lot in life that I do not know. There are skills I want to improve on. So I could be a better dad, husband and person. One thing I learned quite late in the game. Is that a big part of becoming an adult? Is encountering challenges we're not prepared for, but at the same time, try and do the right thing or trying to fix where we went wrong.
So as you continue to observe your daddy, and as you listen in on this podcast, you'll better understand that I don't have it all together. I have so much to learn, which I'm excited to share in future episodes. Fortunately with 41 years of life, I've already picked up a few things and learn quite a few lessons. Sometimes the hard way. And I've also been blessed with loved ones, friends and family, who I look forward to joining me on this podcast to not only teach me, but to share their stories and their wisdom with you.
It's my goal in and outside of this podcast, as your daddy to teach you, inspire you and love you for the time I do have here. And even when I'm physically no longer around. I'm hoping this podcast will always be here for you and for anyone who may want to listen.
I certainly wish I had a podcast growing up about the do's and don'ts in life and hearing stories from people I personally know, trust and respect. Knowing that what I'm going to hear in every podcast episode will guide me to better decisions and frameworks and how we approach life.
So while I learning along the way, I hope you two can learn these things sooner and faster. Enjoy the podcast, Jeremiah. I made this for you and I love you with all my heart.
